A thoughtful and sensitive autobiography, seen through the lens of mental illness recovery. Denton’s journey has taken her from a childhood full of emotional risk and financial insecurity through hospitalizations for bipolar disorder to a life of learning and self-discovery. If you are interested in natural healing and traditional (aka “alternative”) medicine, you will a lot of inspiration here. But even if you aren’t interested in those paths, you will still find her journey fascinating and moving. This book is a particular must for anyone struggling with diagnoses of depression or bipolar disorder, or for anyone who parents someone with such a diagnosis. Find here a story of hope and healing — one told with self-awareness and self-deprecating humor throughout.

Mental illness is hard for anyone to discuss. This book is the journey this author took over her life thus far and recognized that she was mentally ill and was willing to discuss it and take the time to tell how she overcame this difficulty. This must have been very difficult for the author to recite for all to see. I believe this book will help all understand the illness affecting the mind and give much information about how to seek treatment. It is an interesting read and I read it in 2 days and was always interested to see what happened yet. Thanks to the author for this book and discussing her life journey.

Cathy has such a unique voice. She traces her family background and the impacts of geographical area, poverty, and gender discrimination. Sometimes it is funny and sometimes heartbreaking. A wonderful first novel.

This is a wonderful account of the author’s battle and triumph over mental illness. The raw and honest words are refreshingly relatable for a person who has experienced similar struggles and they offer hope for a person who may still be struggling. The theory of inherited epigenetics is woven into the recovery process along with deep spiritual healing. The ending will leave you feeling peace and deep admiration for the author’s victory.

I got this book from Cathy after hearing her speak to a gathering of men and women who have adult loved ones with mental illness. Many in the audience listened with tears in their eyes as she described her difficult and, at times, painful journey from ill to well with an uncommon honesty. That voice is present in her book, Metaphysical Girl. Cathy is vulnerable and strong simultaneously, Anyone who has struggled with depression and other mood disorders will be comforted and encouraged by this book. Families and friends of those who are living with mood disorders will find hope for the happiness and health of their loved ones. Metaphysical Girl is a good read.

This is an amazing story that goes over Catherine’s life as she goes back herself to examine possibilities as to why her mental health was in the that state due to all sorts of factors. It really made me think about how things do out of our control can affect our mental health. It is a great read!

I purchased the book at an event that I attended. I have bipolar 1 and was interested in her perspective. It was amazing how much of what I have gone through, she described. It helped me feel that I wasn’t so alone in my journey and that others feel the same way I do. She is an excellent writer and I found myself completely engrossed in her life and story. I must read for anyone with any mental health concerns of know of anybody with them!

Love Letters from Thiel: A Channeled Book
I met Thiel during my meditation sessions in 2015. We had 29 conversations over 2.5 years. They espoused Love as the cornerstone of all things and described the way forward in Love using many stories and analogies. Their messages took the form of letters to me and to the world. I share them with you and Thiel's main message: You are loved. Indeed, you are love itself.
